PSM and RMP are two acronyms that come up frequently around industrial ammonia refrigeration. They are related, but they aren't interchangeable. Understanding where OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA's Risk Management Program (RMP) fit into your operation is an important first step toward managing compliance. When people hear Mechanical Integrity , they sometimes picture an inspector walking through a refrigeration facility with a clipboard. Inspection is certainly part of the process, but an effective Mechanical Integrity program goes much further.
